Turf Care & Lawn Maintenance in Northern Virginia

A lush, healthy lawn in Northern Virginia takes more than weekly mowing. D&D's annual turf care program feeds, protects, and strengthens your turf through every season, so your lawn stays green and resilient from spring green-up through winter dormancy.

Healthy, weed-free Northern Virginia lawn maintained under D&D's annual turf care program

Our seven-application annual program is built around the needs of Northern Virginia soils and Virginia's climate. It opens with palletized liming to hold a healthy pH of 6.5 to 7.0 and improve nutrient uptake, followed by split pre-emergent and post-emergent herbicide applications that suppress more than forty broadleaf and grassy weeds and control crabgrass germination.

Mid-season, we apply a broadleaf herbicide for clover and dandelion, then an insecticide combined with slow-release fertilizer to control grubs, fleas, and ticks. In early fall we apply a balanced slow-release fertilizer with higher phosphorus to support new seed germination — usually paired with aeration and overseeding — and we close the year with a high-nitrogen winterization that feeds the root system through the winter months.

Aeration and overseeding are available as part of the program, helping compacted Northern Virginia lawns breathe and thicken up for the next season. Every application is scheduled around weather and your lawn's condition, not a rigid calendar, so the program adapts to the year in front of us.

As a family-owned company with more than 40 years in Northern Virginia, D&D treats your lawn like our own. The estimate is free, the schedule is clear, and the crew shows up on time.
